She started her acting career from Television with popular drama series Kasamh Se which was telecast on Zee TV as a lead role in the serial also won Indian Telly Award for Best Actress and several other. Prachi is now works in Bollywood film. She is an Indian actress and model and among the successful actors who jumped from small screen to big screen.
She was born on September 12, 1988, Surat, India to Niranjan Desai and Ameeta Desai and she has one sister. She did her schooling from St. Joseph Convent from Surat and completed higher education from Pune. In 2007 she entered into TV reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and won the competition. 
She began her filmy career in 2008 and her Bollywood debut from movie Rock On in 2008 opposite Farhan Akhtar. Later she worked on another Bollywood project Life Partner in 2009 followed by movie Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai along with co-star Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut and Emraan Hashmi in the film. 
She got her major breakthrough from film Bol Bachchan as a lead role with co-star Abhishek Bachchan, Asin and Ajay Devgan. Later she appeared in several other Hindi films includes I, Me Aur Main in 2013, Policegiri in 2013 opposite Sanjay Dutt, Special appearance for Ek Villain in 2014. Apart from film she had participated in several tv shows like daily soap, reality show and doing several commercial ads for beauty products. She is the brand ambassador Goa Tourisms also the ambassador for Luxlyra. 
Her recent Bollywood released Azhar in 2016 she was playing a role of Naureen Azhar and her upcoming film Rock On 2 she is featured as Sakshi in the film which will be on the floor this year in 2016. She has been active since 2006 till date and has huge fan following on social media.
